I think if you installed previous Office version using Click-To-Run (C2R) installer, you can’t install Office 2016 side-by-side. Although we were able to install Office 2016 Preview side-by-side with Office 2013 and we can run both versions (2013 as well as 2016) of all Office programs at the same time. So you’ll need to uninstall existing Office suite from your system before installing this free Preview of Office 2016.
According to Microsoft, this preview will NOT run side-by-side with any previously installed Office version.
